Looking for something interesting to do? Here are a few ideas. Most of these are available a short drive away. The variety is endless – judge for yourselves:


Clevedon Farmers’ Market: A very popular place on Sunday mornings from 8:30am to 13:00pm where local produce, plants, specialty & organic meats, cheeses, chocolates and other products are on sale. On nice days donkey & pony rides are available too.


Scenic Flights: from Ardmore Airport (5min. away) including scenic DC3 flights


Arts & Crafts Market: Sunday mornings from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Where handicrafts, jewellery, cheeses, cakes, jams also all locally produced are available.


Vineyards: Clevedon is home to a number of well appointed boutique vineyards & wineries producing top quality wines. We can recommend Twilight Vineyard, Inverness, Radach, Arahura, Puriri Hills, Vin Alto ( Vin Alto is also a well renowned restaurant (by prior appointment only) and wine tasting venue. John Hill Estate is a is a beautiful family owned and run estate in the Hunua Valley for all your dining and excursion needs. 


Clevedon Oyster Farm: 10min. drive from Clevedon – great fresh Oysters & Oyster Soup.


McNicol Homestead: Visit this historic house, view items used by the early settlers.


Beaches: Kawakawa Bay as well as Maraetai and the coast to arrive to it have great safe beaches. These are very popular by warm weather.


Clevedon Animal Farm: Donkey & Pony rides, other animals on show – parties accepted by prior arrangement.

Walks: The Hunua ranges offer many well maintained native bush walks. There is also a very interesting waterfall.  Picnic facilities available. 10 min. away. The Clevedon Scenic Reserve offers 100 hectares of natural bush tracks climbing over the Wairoa River.


Miranda Hot Springs: Thermally heated fresh mineral water. A 25min. drive away – take the Kawakawa Bay Road in Clevedon & follow the signs.


Churches: The Presbyterian Church is located under the palm tree in the middle of Clevedon Village. The Anglican Church – All Souls - is found at 49 North Road, a short distance beyond the school, just on the outskirts of Clevedon Village.


Shopping: Even on a Sunday, both the Clevedon Woolshed, Acorns, Interiors, Saddlery, Puchi  offer an enviable variety of New Zealand gifts and quality products. The Clevedon pharmacy,also has a good range of cosmetics and giftware. Large shopping centres are located in East Tamaki – Botany Downs or Manukau  (all 20 minutes drive away).


Farming Shows & Golfing:  The annual A&P show (November) runs horse-riding & other animal competitions. It has a wine and food area with a live jazz band.   Golfing at Windross Farm is within 10 minutes drive. 


Dog Shows: Held at the Auckland Kennel Club grounds on the Clevedon-Papakura Road, about 10min. car drive.


Karaka Horse Sales:  Held regularly at the Karaka Horse Sale Complex – 20min. away by car.


Polo Season: The Polo Club grounds are located 5min. away from Clevedon Village, on the Kawakawa Bay Road. The season starts after Christmas and lasts till April.


Massage:  Available by prior booking at Clevedon Sabai massage. Therapeutic massage by professional therapists.


Pukerau 4WD:  4WD trips and training into the scenic hill tops and neighbouring valleys.
